ENERGY REQUALIFICATION OF A HISTORIC RESIDENCE AND B&B
The palace undergoing this renovation is situated in Polcenigo, at the foot of the Cansiglio, and is a noble residence dating back to the 17th century, designated by the Italian State as a property of historical and cultural interest. Beyond serving as the owners’ residence, a portion of it is now an elegant bed & breakfast.
Objectives of the renovation:
– Enhance indoor comfort levels
– Reduce operating costs by aligning energy consumption with that of modern high-energy-efficiency homes.
To provide an elevated level of comfort to guests, an internal insulation layer was installed on all perimeter walls, and the winter air conditioning system was redesigned with modern standards of system design in mind.
The project and works were conducted in collaboration with the authorities overseeing properties of historical and cultural interest (Superintendent of Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Landscape of Friuli Venezia Giulia – Udine branch).
