RESTORATION AND ENERGY UPGRADE OF A HISTORIC STONE COUNTRY HOUSE
This age-old rural stone building is nestled in the Umbrian hills, overlooking the high Tiber Valley to the northwest.
The initial step toward comprehensive energy requalification involves transforming the most degraded section of the structure, originally utilized as a tobacco drying shed, into a small studio apartment. The client has envisioned an internal space that is minimalist, harmonious, luminous, and in harmony with the surrounding nature, yet simultaneously fluid and functional. The original wooden roof structures, significantly altered in past years, will be reinstated, and a suitable insulation package will be implemented. The use of natural and traditional materials such as lime, hemp, brick, stone, and custom-designed wooden furniture imparts a rustic character to the environment while preserving the historic ambiance of the farmhouse.
